Description Of Medium Voltage (up to 35kV) XLPE Insulated Power Cable

  • Rated Temperature:  90℃

  • Rated Voltage:  up to 26/35kV

  • Reference Standard:  IEC60502-2

  • Conductor: Shaped and circular stranded copper conductors

  • Insulated: Insulated with Cross-linked polyethylene

  • Sheathed: PVC

Medium voltage (up to 35kV) XLPE insulated power cable utilize chemical cross-linking (peroxide-initiated) or physical irradiation processes to convert linear polyethylene molecules into a three-dimensional thermosetting network structure. This transformation enhances the material’s thermal stability, elevating its maximum operating temperature from 75°C (thermoplastic PE) to 90°C (short-circuit withstand up to 250°C), while retaining superior dielectric properties.

Application of Medium voltage (up to 35kV) XLPE insulated power cable:

  • Urban Distribution Networks: Medium-voltage connections between ring main units (RMUs) and transformers.

  • Industrial Power Supply: Main feeder lines in chemical plants, refineries, and corrosive environments.

  • Rail Transit: Power transmission for traction substations and electrified rail systems.

  • Renewable Energy: PV plant step-up circuits/Wind farm collector lines

  • Submarine Cables: XLPE insulation with lead-sheath protection for subsea power transmission (≤35 kV).
